The Best Day Of The Year

So you made it through recruitment! Congratulations! The day of your dreams is finally here. The day you get to run home to your new chapter. You've probably been dreaming about this day for awhile. You are slightly nervous though. Will you get the chapter you wanted? Will you the girls like you? Don't let the nerves get to you. Be happy and stay optimistic. If you don't get your first choice thats fine too. Don't let that get to you. Don't drop just because you didn't get your first choice. At least stay and stick it out for a few weeks. You are there for a reason.
The girls obviously liked you enough to give you a bid. The new member process is going to be the best experience of your life no matter what chapter you are in. You are going to make so many new friends and so many new memories. These are the days you will look back on when you are seniors and getting ready to graduate. You will forever tell the future new members stories of the days when you were new members. Have fun and enjoy. Over the ext few weeks you will be getting your big sisters, your first set of letters and getting initiated. The fun is only about to begin.

Rule #3: Be yourself

I like to think that this rule is very important. Be yourself. Don't be someone that you aren't. It is very important to show off your real personality during recruitment and notch you think the chapter wants you to be. If you feel as though you have to change yourself for a group of girls, then you shouldn't want to be apart of that organization. Being apart of a chapter where you can be yourself no matter how weird or strange you are is one of the best parts of being greek.
You want a group of girls that you can sit there with and say the strangest things to and have them laugh at you. Not because they think you are strange but because they genuinely think you are funny. Find a group of girls that make you feel comfortable to make you bust out your weirdest dance moves in a room of strangers. Your sisters will like your rendition of the "lawn mower", I promise. I really can't stress how important this is. Having a group of girls who you can be yourself around not only makes being greek better, but it also makes your whole experience in college better. Think about it. You need that group of girls that can see you ugly cry at 4 in the morning because you are stressed out about your final exams. Those same girls will also make you laugh 5 minutes later because they are making fun of your ugly cry. So when you go through recruitment remember rule #3!
