Big/Little Week

One week that every sorority girl looks forward to is Big/Little week. It is seriously the most wonderful time of the year. This is the week where everyday you get a gift/clue from your future big telling you who she is. Seriously its the best week ever. Its also very stressful though. One thing that I can advise is don't go into this week with a poor attitude. What i mean by that is don't go in expecting someone to be your big sister and then figuring out that that person is not intact your big. It will ruin the week for you. Just try and have a positive outlook. At the end of the week you will find out who your big sister really is and it will be one of the happiest days of your life.

Now What?

So now you have your bid. But what happens now? Now you start your new member process. During this process you will learn what the sisterhood is really all about. You will learn about the history, the founding sisters and all of the things that make up the sorority. In addition to that how ever you will start to make friendships with the girls in your chapter. At first this can be a bit awkward, but by initiation you will have met some of your best friends. While learning about the sorority is important, I like to think that the most important part about the new member process is getting to know everyone. Seriously, get to know EVERYONE.
You might think that you don't need to get to know that girl who is graduating at the end of the semester. Wrong. You do. She might not be in the sorority with you long, but she has insight that no body else does. Not only can she give you a ton of information about the sorority, she can also help you a lot in a few years. While you are living it up in college, she is going to be out in the real world with a real job and real life connections. In four years she could be your greatest asset to getting a job. All in all, cherish this process. These will be the days that you look back on forever and wish you could relive.
